Must an E-Board be a longboard or skateboard with electric motor? How about an electric surfboard or E-Surfer?
Well, you have to have a decent budget to afford an E-Surfer, but it is definitely a lot of fun.
The cheapest electric surfboards start at 5,000 EUR and they go up to 25,000 EUR. Similar to the electric skateboards the low budget versions are not good for heavy riders above 75 kg.
You can compare the prices in the electric surfboard shop.
The main reason why an electric surfboard is so expensive is the battery. Not only needs it to be waterproof, it also needs much more power compared to an electric longboard.
A battery for an E-Surfer is between 1,500 and 4,500 EUR and offers a range between 20 and 40 minutes. So you basically should have 2 or 3 of them to fill an entire afternoon with friends. But who can afford this?
There is a reason why electric surfboards are also called “luxury toys” 😉
In the electric surfboard forum users are exchanging their thoughts about this topic..
Most of the manufacturers are actually coming from Europe and in specific Germany. Why? Probably as they don’t have enough waves 😉
Many of the boards are only available later this year and most of them are just announced with no shipping date. And even if available for sale, you might need to wait a couple of months until you get it.
On the E-Surfer website is a comparison table to review the different boards from manufacturers like Waterwolf, Lampuga, WATERREBELS, CURF, Radinn, Onean, eSurf and others.
Enjoy and start to build your budget 😉
